Back in 1989, Neil, John and Anne McGrory were just assuming control of their family business, way up north in wee Culdaff village in glorious Inisowen.

Back then, McGrory’s was a 10-bed guest house with bar food, and it was for sale. Today, this powerhouse of a place is pub, amazing music venue, restaurant and comfy rooms, and it rocks with energy and the special contentment of a unique destination.
Ten years after taking over, they added on the restaurant, all the time developing the rooms, improving the offer, polishing the offer. And, as they are musicians, they increasingly attracted the sort of serious musicians who appreciate being respected and the roll-call of great Irish musicians who have plucked, fiddled and sung in McGrory’s is endless. Today, Anne, John and Neil’s house is a signature destination for great cooking, great craic, and great comfort. It is also one of the most Irish of addresses, and one of the most distinctly, distinctively Donegalese. Stay here, and you will understand Donegal.
