This Christmas, use the Internet to help alieviate world hunger : click on The Hunger Site, www.thehungersite.com, a site which focuses the power of the Internet on a specific humanitarian need.
You click the 'Donate Free Food' button once a day (why not make it your home page?) and it buys a cup of staple food, paid for by The Hunger Site's sponsors, and distributed through the United Nations World Food Programme, Mercy Corps and America's Second Harvest. Food goes to hungry people in over 80 countries. You can only hit the button once in 24 hours.
The Hunger Site is owned by GreaterGood.com, a nonprofit organisation set up to use the internet to generate revenue for good causes. On average over 220,000 individuals from around the world visit the site each day which makes it one of the great success stories of the world wide web, so get clicking and, in Sir Bob Geldof's words, let's feed the world..
