Dear John and Sally
Being a regular traveller on the N4 I would like to recommend a little cafe called Granuaile on the main road in Kinnegad. The food is unusually good for this type of restaurant. The service also is excellent and I would like to see people who make a special effort to provide good food in this sector receiving recognition.
Marina Forrestal
*Thanks Marina, It's always great to hear of good on-the-main-road stopovers to sustain us as we circumbobulate the country. Anyone taking the N7/N8 will also be delighted to hear that, after its refurbishment, Cashel's invaluable Spearman is back on the tracks: see Stay Tuned.
Dear John and Sally
Having just read the recent letter from Ciara Quill, (last month's
Megabytes) highlighting a number of reputable suppliers in "the Kingdom"
- I can also vouch for each of her recommendations!! I also hail from
Kerry - and I also live in Dublin currently. I greatly look forward
to my frequent visits to most of the suppliers named in Ciara's letter!
PS - Love the Megabytes emails - Keep up the good work.
Donal O'Dwyer
*Thanks Donal, and the big news from the Kingdom is that the first meeting of the Kerry convivium of Slow Food was held late last month, in Kenmare. Mairead Robinson is the convenor (maireadan@tinet.ie ) and she has further convivia planned for Listowel and Castlegregory. For more details see Stay Tuned.
Dear John and Sally
If you are visiting Crosshaven checking out the Captain's Table, may I recommend a stop at 'Oz Haven' in Oysterhaven. We were taken there by friends living locally while visiting Cork over the summer. Paul Greer's charming and jovial personality, coupled with the exciting and varied menu on offer and the interesting decor made for a great evening's entertainment.
Grace Curtis
*Thanks Grace, we look forward to heading to that oh-so-delightful village to sample the Oz tucker!
