Competition
Win a Country Choice Christmas Pudding.
Well, all you Megabytes subscribers must have backpacked and mountain walked in Nepal in the past, because the flood of answers - virtually every one of which was utterly correct - to our question about dal, bhat and tarkari came flooding in to our last competition. So, what are they, and who wins dinner for 2 in Monty's of Kathmandu? Step forward Jackie Gorman from Tipperary who writes correctly: 'Dal is a lentil soup made usually in Nepal from yellow or black lentils. Bhat is steamed or boiled rice and Takari is any vegetable or a combination of vegetables made with curry in a rich, spicy broth. It can be made in thousands of ways. The three things are the bacon & spuds & cabbage of Nepalese food!'
This time out, something droolsome as our Xmas prize: a divine handmade Christmas pudding from the finest shop in Ireland: Peter and Mary Ward's Country Choice, in Nenagh. Answer this simple question and you could be the lucky person flaming the Country Choice pud. Simply tell us: Who was the author of "The Night before Christmas"?.
