The Apple Farm Store

Over recent years we have sung the praises of the amazing Con Traas, of The Apple Farm, on the road between Cahir and Clonmel in County Tipperary. Fine, say readers, but do we have to go to The Apple Farm itself to get that wonderful apple juice?

Well, up to now you did have to head off to Tipp, and a few selected outlets, but a collaboration between Mr Traas and Paddy Keogh, of Mullingar’s Wines Direct, means that you can now get this precious elixir though the mails. €35.99 per case will get a dozen bottles delivered to your door; that is excellent value for one for one of the best drinks made in Ireland.

Country Choice Xmas Pudding

Christmas Pudding

A lady came up to us recently in a restaurant and asked if we could please run an Xmas pudding recipe we featured in the Irish Times several years back. Our sincere apologies, but we just can't find it. And, anyway, we don't make Xmas puddings anymore. What do we do? We buy a barley wine pudding from Peter Ward's outstanding shop, Country Choice, in Nenagh, Co Tipperary. When you can buy this good, who wants to do all that work?
