Fast Food Nation
Well, Richard Linklater and Eric Schlosser have made the horror movie of your nightmares: Fast Food Nation. Coming soon to a cinema near you.
FFN is truly disgusting, which is to say it is all about disgust, unalloyed disgust. The movie uses the most visceral methods to tell the story of exactly what fast food is, and exactly what fast food does. This is a movie with many devils - chief amongst them Bruce Willis, who not only plays Nosferatu but who looks like Nosferatu - and very few angels, and the angels get it in the back of the neck every time. The screenplay opens out Schlosser's superb book to reveal the human exploitation at the heart of the fast food industries, and it ends with a lengthy sequence that takes us straight to the belly of the beast.
Very few movies change the way people
behave. Fast Food Nation will do just that.
