The Wine? Wyndham
Estate Bin 555 Shiraz
Who's it For?
Suave city guy who aims to impress with minimum effort. Exactly the
sort of thing Daniel Cleaver would order for dinner with Bridget on
a Country-House-hotel mini-break.
What's it Like?
This cult shiraz tastes like blackberries on a steroid jag.
Brief me: One
of a group of five Aussie wines made by the Wyndham company, all known
by their numbers: 222, 444, 555, 777, 888. There is no 666.
The wherewithal?
Sold pretty much everywhere that sells wine, @ €11.41.
What else can I say? :-|

The Wine? Gazur
1999 Ribero del Duero
Who’s it For? Soulful,
sensitive, sophisticated? It’s got your name on it.
What’s it Like? Telmo
Rodriguez is to Spanish wine making what Roy Keane is to Irish soccer:
working hard all over the pitch. Brilliant.
Brief me: The
thumbprint on the label is actually Telmo Rodriguez's thumbprint, he's
that proud of it.
The wherewithal?
Look fot it in Joe Karwig’s shop in Carrigaline and on good wine lists
throughout the country, @ c €14
What else can I say? :-)))

The Wine? McGuigan
The Black Label Chardonnay
Who’s it For? The McGuigan WLTM person devoid of discernment
and lacking a GSOH.
What’s it Like?
It’s a complete :-) 8.
Big, in your face, subtle as a poke in the eye.
Brief me: Taking
this to a party in 2002 is the equivalent of turning up with a bottle
of Blue Nun in 1992.
The wherewithal?
Avoid it everywhere, especially in Northern Ireland, where the McGuigan
is a Big Brand, sadly.
What else can I say? :-S
Emoticon Key
:-S I am speechless
:-) 8 Dolly
Parton
:-))) I am really
happy
:-| I am indifferent
to it
