Ilen Valley Organic Beef

Madeline McKeever and Paul McCormick have extended their operations in the Skibbereen market to include organic beef, sold as fillet steak, sirloin steak, round steak, roast beef, and minced beef. This is just the latest signature innovation of this impressive duo.
With Madeline and Paul we are well armed to struggle against the myopic mindlessness of modern agri-business, for the duo are foot soldiers in the battle for sanity in farming, food and agriculture. If you are interested in permaculture - they specialise in perennial vegetables: Babington leek, and nine-star broccoli. If you believe in bio-diversity they save seed, under the label 'The Brown Envelope Seed Company'. If you love old varieties and heritage vegetables, look out for their saved seeds of Tipperary Turnip. If you cherish the idea of the regeneration of the markets, then Madeline and Paul are outspoken defenders of the market culture and the fight to save the Skibb Fair Field, amongst other markets. They are defenders of free choice through their work in the Cork Free Choice Movement and - all in all - we reckon they deserve an honorary Che - our symbol to single out those who are food revolutionaries, working to make this a better place for all of us. These quiet revolutionaries do their bit to make a real difference.
Ilen Valley Organic Beef, and seeds from the Brown Envelope Seed Company, plus some organic plants are available every Saturday Morning in the Skibbereen Farmers' Market on the Fair Field. Contact Madeline or Paul at: madsmckeever@eircom.net
