Quotidian:Everyday things that should be snapped up

#1: Crinnaughton Apples

Apples

We all know Julia Keane's superlative Crinnaghtaun apple juice, from Cappoquin in County Waterford, but a lot of folk probably don't realise that the Keanes also sell their apples to the major multiples. It can be difficult to discover this, however, as they are rarely labelled as coming from the Crinnaghtaun orchards.

So, next time you are in your local Super-Valu and you see a bag of Jonagored apples marked as coming from Ireland, snap them up, for they will be the Keane's apples, and they are extremly good, both for eating, and for juicing at home with some celery and a knob of ginger.
