Commons Cookery Classes

If you twisted our arm (ouch! Hey, we were being metaphorical) and asked who is the hottest emerging cooking talent in Dublin right now, we might just have to say that Aiden Byrne of The Commons Restaurant on St Stephen's Green fits the bill. His food is powerfully flavoured and shows a mesmerising technique.

And now, if you want to muscle in on those thunderous flavours and to crib from that mighty technique, you can. Mr Byrne is holding a series of cookery classes, kicking off on May 27th with summer pastas, with barbecues on June 30th, seafood specialities on July 28th and autumn flavours on September 29th. £60 for the demos also buys lunch with wine tastings by the most amenable of wine merchants, Paddy Keogh of Wines Direct. Demos begin at 11am, lunch at 1pm. Pretty sociable idea, we reckon.

And, just to prove that they like a lot on their plate, The Commons have also just opened The Commons Café in the National Concert Hall.
