Dear John and Sally
Since moving to Ireland permanently last August, your Bridgestone Guides have become our road map to great food. The Shopper's Guide is truly as stated on the cover: 'all the food loving shopper needs to know'. And on a recent 10-day trip to West Cork, we soon came to realize that the only restaurants worth going into were those recommended in your guide.
In an attempt to 'give' something back to you, and in case you have not been to Dublin in the last few weeks, you should know of a unique and superb new food store in Donnybrook called Donnybrook Fair. There is simply not a store like it anywhere else in Dublin! It takes a Morton's (which I love) to another level with its architecture and lighting and it has particular foods that we've not yet been able to find in Dublin. In understand the owner took nearly three years researching the best food stores in Paris, London and New York and that the final design utilizes key concepts from this research. It is fast becoming the place to shop in Southside Dublin.

*Thanks Desmond, and on your recommendation we checked out the super-smart DF: see Letters from the Road
Dear John and Sally
Could you please tell me where I might find a listing for all the different food fairs that take place annually in Ireland as I always seem to only hear of them when they are over. Thanks, David Devine.
* We do cover the main markets in our Bridgestone Food Lover's Guides, but the various food fairs tend to chop and change their dates, David, so they are a little tricky to track down with accuracy. But 'watch this space', and we will see what we can do during the summer, and log on to http://www.slowfoodireland.com for news of Slow Food events.
Dear John and Sally
Can you please let me know where I can get small quantities of org. veg. plants by post. We had a-force 5 come our way about a week ago so I'm afraid things are a bit behind in the cabbage patch.
Regards Peter
*Country markets are often the best place to buy infant organic vegetable plants, and also street markets, such as the Skibbereeen Saturday market or the Wicklow Country markets; and see the piece on Fingal Ferguson, in Stay Tuned.
