Domaine de Subremont 2001

The Wine? Domaine de Subremont 2001, from South-West France, a vin de pays from Peyriac, just north of Carcassone

Who's it For? Folk who like decent wine that hasn't been "made" in the cellar, and who like open-faced French regional wines.

What's it Like? A William Morris wine, which is to say it opens out into neat patterns of flavour - lime and citrus peel with some grape notes for the white; plums and cinnamon and vanilla for the red. Brief me: You'll find it in Terroirs in Donnybrook, where it is one of Sean and Francoise Gilley's best- sellers

The wherewithal? At €7.95 this is the barbecue sizzler for your summer: buy one bottle, you go back to Terroirs to buy a case.

What else can I say? :-)
