Atmosphere by the bottle

Is there anywhere in Dublin quite as atmospheric as Erik Robson's Ely Wine Bar, on Ely Place? Even if you walk in here at 3.30pm in the afternoon, there is a liveliness, an insouciant je-ne-sais-quoi, which no other Dublin address can match, and it's an earthy atmosphere which the very cool, witty staff match to a T. After all, here is a place which ends its brilliant wine list with a note that reads: "As with most good things in life some of our wines are not always readily available. The vintages may also change, due to somebody drinking it all."
How do you define "Cult"? The answer, surely, is Ely.
So, just sit us up at one of those tall tables, open that bottle of Domaine des Baumard Savennières and we are as happy as Larry.
