Menu of the Month
Lennon's Café Bar, Tullow Street, Carlow
One of those very hip and smart Borb Bia personnel was Sinéad Byrne, who has traded in the day job on Mount Street for the stove at Lennon's Café Bar, on Tullow Street in Carlow, which Sinéad runs with her husband. This is not just a super-stylish pub, which it undoubtedly is, but also home to the sort of cooking that gives pub food a good name. When we were in recently the place was jumping at lunchtime, and the deep-fried battered cod with wedges, tartare sauce and a lovely salad was cracking cooking: judged just right, excellent quality ingredients, and really marvellous service from very, very friendly staff. A hot don't-miss-it! destination in Carlow. Here is the sort of food Sinéad and her team are producing Monday to Saturday lunchtime.
