A nifty little café-deli and bistro in the out of town location of Lower Mount Street, just a stone’s throw from Merrion Square. The upstairs does take-away, with good coffee, loverly pastries and confections, and tasty savoury food including good big fat sandwiches, wraps, salads, and soups, all cooked in-house. Downstairs the bistro opens for lunch all week, and dinner from Wednesday to Friday. Just as in the café, the food is fresh and nicely done in the bistro, and great value with starters such as Kennebunkport seafood chowder (€7) and prawns pil pil with rustic dipping bread (€8) and mains such as spiced lemon prawn and scallop linguine (€16) and roast pork fillet with spiced pan- roasted apples and pears with herbed sautéed potatoes (€17). Add it all up and you get a great all-rounder of an eatery.
Accepts cards. Open Mon-Fri (breakfast) 7.30am-11am, (lunch) 12pm-3pm, café closes 4pm, bistro open for dinner Weds-Fri evenings)
