Joe Grogan fashioned considerable success whilst working out in Rosses Point, so his move into the centre of town to the legendary Hargadon's bar is a healthy jolt for Sligo eating.
The bar has been meticulously restored, and also features a wine shop, on the Johnston Court entrance. Aside from lunch, the main food offer is a tapas menu, but Mr Grogan uses the term tapas lightly - somewhat like Ilia Tapas in Mullingar - so what you are offered are light eats rather than little tastes of Iberia: warm crab cake on tomato salsa, chorizo sausage with crispy potatoes, chicken spring roll with herb polenta cake, portobello mushroom with spinach and goat's cheese.
