If we wanted to show you the culture of agriculture at work, in all its philosophical, contemplative and active glory, then we would suggest you spend a few days with Christopher and Helen at Lough Bishop House. Even just a few days here will show you a mixed organic farm where everything – everything! – enjoys optimum health, where everything shines with vigour and nature, from animals to field mushrooms, from horses to the orchard. In fact, were we in the position to do it, we would love to make a television series about Lough Bishop, as it ravels through the seasons of a year. We would call it “Helen and Christopher’s agriCULTURE”, and it would open people’s minds to what farming is meant to be about, because it would show farming in step with nature, in step with place, in step with all the exciting, elemental things that tie us to the earth. Lough Bishop is important, and you should stay here to be reminded of the things that make us human. Oh, and the hosts are ace and the food is simply fab.
