Mary-Kathryn Murphy is cool. She gets it. She knows what's what, like the other cool guys. She knows not only what good cooking and baking needs, but also what good cooking and baking doesn't need.
And she makes it beautiful: everything gets what it needs, and gets a handsome mien as it goes on its way. She is an ascetic aesthetic, and Kildare is lucky to have her. It doesn't matter if you just have a sausage roll and a cup of tea, or some victoria sponge with chocolate icing and a cup of coffee, or bring home some of Johnny's lamb tagine for your dinner: whatever it is will be exactly what it should be, could be, and what you want it to be. Decorous deliciousness, and handsome wholesomeness, that's Mary-Kathryn's method.
