"It was fabulous, that's the only word I can think of.
Muesli with fresh fruit and Glenilen yoghurt to start.
Innocent smoothies. Good orange juice. Home made brown bread, scones and tea brack. Then, for me, Sally Barnes smoked haddock served with two of Roger's free-range organic eggs softly poached on top. J had those eggs scrambled with some Gubbeen bacon and some mushrooms. Hot crunchy toast. Good tea, good coffee. I didn't need to eat again for the day. The rooms are all spick and span, high-quality bed linen and throws, immaculate en suite bathrooms with Molton Brown toiletries. Of course all of this is wonderful but the twin foundations of Parkswood's attraction are the wonderful, gracious house and its lovely location high above the estuary AND Roger and Terrie Pooley themselves. Their genuine interest in their guests shines out like a beacon and they are such cheery, self-effacing people that you can't help but unwind in their company. One night here might not be enough. A lovely, lovely place."
