Grainne O’Connell has been working wonders in the sublime Purple Heather since 1975. Back in those days, most Irish pub cooking consisted of ham sandwiches and Nescafé, but the O’Connell family have always been different, and like the Allen family of Ballymaloe they have always done their own thing, and always done it superbly.
In the PH you will enjoy proper, home-made, hand-made food, from soups to puds, and it will put a smile on your face as surely as your head and your heart will be saying that maybe there is time for a second pint? or another glass of wine? and sure what’s the rush? Can’t we linger in this tabernacle of a room just a little longer? We can? Good.
